I can’t wait to see this one: From November 15-21, Unity North Atlanta Church in Marietta will host Tibetan monks. Monks, in general, fascinate me because of their ability to be still & quiet. I have neither the patience nor the temperament for either.
But these Tibetan monks fascinate me for another reason: While they’re here, they’ll construct a White Tara Mandala. Even if you’re not familiar with the term, you’re probably familiar with the process—it’ll take them six days to create it out of millions of grains of sand. Don’t sneeze.
There’s no charge to watch them construct the White Tara Mandala. If you want to know more about the White Tara, considered the compassionate mother of all Buddhas, a protector & a healer, and the White Tara Mandala, plan to attend the “Mystique and Meaning of the White Tara” lecture on November 16 at 7:30 p.m. Donations accepted.
Need to relax? Stop by on November 18 at 7:30 p.m. for “Tibetan Chants and Meditation for the Soul.” Free; donations accepted. View the full schedule of events.
Unity North is located at 4255 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta. 678-819-9100.
