I need to track down my heavy coat & a pair of gloves before tomorrow so that I can take advantage of this one:
From December 11-13, Grant Park will host the 2009 Holiday Lights & Market. It’s based on the European tradition of Advent Markets held in town squares. There’ll be an artist/gift market, plenty of food & holiday beverages, music, and lots of sparkling lights (natch).
The full entertainment schedule hasn’t been posted yet, but you’ll be treated to performances by the US Army Ground Forces Band’s Brass Ensemble (random: I love brass bands), the Vauxhall Garden Variety Players, Soli Deo Gloria Handbell Ensemble (random: They’re harder to play than it looks), Advance Women’s Ensemble, High School Chamber Ensemble, Scrooge in Rouge, & Mercury Consort.
You don’t have to pay to get in, but Grant Park is requesting a $1 donation for admission. Parking’s free. Grant Park is located at 800 Cherokee Ave, Atlanta.
