The Decatur Lantern Parade returns to light up the night on Friday, May 10th in downtown Decatur. The event will kick off Arts Month in Decatur, so more events will follow.
To participate, gather at Color Wheel Studio at 508 E. Howard St. anytime after 8 p.m. The parade will follow a route toward the downtown Decatur Square, led by the Black Sheep Marching Ensemble. It will start around 9 p.m.
Any lanterns you make or buy must use battery-operated lights only — no open flames, please!
You can wear a lantern hat or carry an illuminated parasol or globe lantern. Glow in the dark clothing and accessories are also encouraged.
This is a family-friendly event.
