Sing a song of sixpence! This is an unusual deal, to say the least. On one day only, McDonalds will exchange foreign currency for food.
If you happen to have any foreign coins left over from your travels, you can now spend it here in the U.S. — at McDonald’s.
The McDonald’s International Currency Exchange event happens on Thursday, June 6th, 2019. It’s only valid between the hours of 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., local time. You can take advantage of it at any McDonald’s in the United States.
During those hours, you can get one item from McDonald’s Worldwide Favorites menu in exchange for any foreign currency, in any amount. So if you’ve been saving those foreign pesos as souvenirs, you can now figure out if you’re willing to part with them.
There’s a limit of one exchange per customer, at the front counter only (no drive-thru transactions).
Only recognized international currency will be accepted, so put your Monopoly money back in the box.
Four menu items that you can buy with your international currency:
Stroopwafel McFlurry from The Netherlands
A creamy vanilla soft serve, mixed with a rich caramel swirl, featuring authentic chopped Dutch Daelmans Stroopwafel caramel waffle cookie pieces.
Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger from Spain
A quarter pound of 100% fresh beef, topped with thick cut Applewood smoked bacon, smoky McBacon Sauce, real Gouda cheese and slivered onions served on a freshly toasted sesame seed bun. (The offer excludes the Double Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger.)
Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich from Canada
Made with a grilled or crispy all-white meat, juicy and tender chicken, the sandwich is topped with tomato & herb sauce, creamy mozzarella cheese, slivered onions, fresh lettuce and sliced Roma tomatoes, served on a freshly toasted artisan roll.
Cheesy Bacon Fries from Australia
The dish is made with the chain’s world-famous fries topped with real cheddar cheese sauce and chopped Applewood Smoked bacon.
