EduHam is a program from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda that helps kids create their own pieces, using history as inspiration.
Almost 2,000 schools have participated in EduHam, and right now, a family version, EduHam at Home, is available to families for FREE.
You’ll need to register. When you register, make sure to say that you’re a parent of a K-12 students so that you can get free access to the Gilder Lehrman Institute and to EduHam at Home.
EduHam at Home participants will be invited to submit their own Hamilton-inspired pieces (songs, raps, spoken-word poems, or scenes), and selected student performances will be shared on social media and the EduHam website.

This free EduHam program includes:
- A personal welcome video from Lin-Manuel Miranda greeting participants, as well as tips and guidance from EduHam teachers to help students create their own work
- Video highlights from past student performances for examples of what to try at home
- Videos clips from Hamilton
- Interviews with Lin-Manuel Miranda, selected cast members, and Ron Chernow, whose biography of Alexander Hamilton inspired the musical
- A wide selection of primary sources centered on a diverse group of 45 People, 14 Events, and 24 Key Documents
Besides EduHam, when you register as a parent, you’ll have access to many more resources from the Gilder Lehrman Institute, including:

- Lesson Plans, Primary Source Documents, Online Exhibitions featuring engaging images, and other content to enrich at-home learning, organized by time period and topic
