[exp] [/exp]The High Museum of Art partnered with The Museum of Modern Art to bring the Picturing New York exhibition to Atlanta. In conjunction with the exhibition, The High has tapped MoMA’s film department to present Archival Gotham: NYC on Film, a series of archival films.
Tickets for films in the Rich Theatre are $7 for the general public & $6 for members/students with ID/seniors, and free for Patron-level members, but two films will be screened free in Sifly Piazza:
- June 16 at 9:00 p.m.: East Side, West Side. “Based on the novel East Side, West Side by Felix Riesenberg, this melodrama follows the rise of a young man from orphan to polite society darling.”
- August 11 at 8:30 p.m.: Taxi Driver. “Travis Bickle drives a New York City taxi on the night shift where the perpetual deluge of rain does nothing to wash away the filth.”
Films screened in Rich Theatre include Little Fugitive on June 23, On The Waterfront on August 18, and The Projectionist on August 25; the movies start at 8:00 p.m.
