[exp] [/exp]On Saturday, August 9, 2014, it’s time for Peace, Love, & Watermelon in Candler Park.
Starting at 2:00 p.m., you can participate in the Candler Park Play Day & play a bit of tennis, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, flag football, hockey, skating, softball, & more.
Then from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m., there’ll be free watermelon while it lasts, plus other fun extras, like a seed-spitting contest, a visit from Captain Planet, a karate demo, drums, & more. And starting at 8:30 p.m., you can watch a free screening of The Karate Kid (the original one).
Can’t make it? Though there won’t be free watermelon each week, you can head out for another of Candler Park’s Movie Nights during the 2014 season:
- August 16: My Big Fat Greek Wedding
- August 23: Monsters Inc.
Bonus: Thanks to the rain, a few movies rescheduled from earlier this season will let the movie nights stretch into September:
- August 30: Frozen Sing Along
- September 6: Remember the Titans
- September 13: The LEGO Movie
Movie festivities start one hour prior to dusk in front of the pool house. Blankets & picnics encouraged.
Candler Park is located at 1500 McClendon Ave., Atlanta.
