This one-day fest is a celebration of all things fermented — from kombucha to kraut to beer!
It takes place on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from noon to 7 p.m., at the Martin Street Foundry in East Point.
The festival is family-friendly, with live music and food vendors onsite.
It is FREE to attend.
This year’s event is part of the Atlanta Science Festival.
The Fermentation Festival was created several years ago to help grow awareness about fermentation, and to educate the community about the history and health benefits of traditional fermented foods. The festival is a hands-on day of learning and sharing this information with the community in a fun and way.
Festival goers can sample and purchase fermented products from two dozen local and regional producers, attend educational talks and demonstrations, and enjoy seasonal kombucha on.

The list of common fermented foods includes sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, kefir, kombucha, tempeh, yogurt, beer, and some types of cheese. The fermentation process was used by our ancestors as a way to make fresh food and milk last much longer. Fermented foods are believed to boost overall health by providing a beneficial dose of probiotic bacteria.
