[exp] [/exp]This looks like a fun & festive way to spend Thursday:
On December 18, 2014, Candlelight Nights will take place at the Atlanta History Center.
From 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., you’ll get a chance to experience how Southerners celebrated Christmas during the pioneer days, the Civil War era, and the 1930s. There’ll be demonstrations of everything from candle dipping to open-hearth cooking & hearthside stories told by Betty Ann Wiley at Smith Family Farm, readings of The Night Before Christmas & caroler at the Swan House, Santa visits at McElreath Hall (from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.), & more.
Admission to Candlelight Nights is $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers, & $8 for children.
Bonus: From 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Atlanta History Center members can stop by the Members-Only Lounge in McElreath Hall for cookie decorating, ornament making, and a visit with Santa (6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.).
The Atlanta History Center is located at 130 West Paces Ferry Rd., Atlanta.
