Whether you’re a veteran or active-duty military, one thing is clear–We appreciate your service.
To say “thanks” for serving, quite a few establishments offer Veterans Day freebies & deals. The details vary for each–some are only veterans, others include active military personnel, while a few are open to anyone.
Here are a few of 2015’s Veterans Day deals. I’ll add to the list as I come across other deals, but speaking of lists, take advantage of this freebie–Sign up for email updates from Atlanta on the Cheap to stay in the know about free & cheap things to do year-round.
- On November 7 & 11, 2015, active and former military members and veterans will get free general admission & their families will save 30% on general admission to the Georgia Aquarium. The deal is not available online, and you must present a military ID at Georgia Aquarium ticketing counter to save.
- Active military with ID receive free admission to the Center for Civil and Human Rights, and they can purchase tickets for family members at a discounted rate, too ($7.50 for adults, $6.50 for seniors, & $5 for children); you must present your ID at the box office to get the deal. On November 7 & 11, 2015, the deal applies to veterans, too. To save, just show a valid veteran ID or DD-214 form at the box office.
- Through November 12, 2015, veterans and active-duty military & reservists with ID will receive a free appetizer or dessert at participating Red Lobster locations.
- On Wednesday, November 11, 2015, you’ll get fee-free admission to national parks.
- On November 11, 2015, you’ll get active-duty military & veterans can play 18 holes for free at all eight of Georgia State Parks’ golf courses. To get the deal, you’ll need to call the course directly to book a tee time & show your military ID when you arrive. Bonus: From November 7-13, active-duty military & veterans with ID will pay only the cart fee when they head out for a round of golf.
- On November 11, 2015, military members that visit Great Clips will receive either a free haircut that day or a free haircut card to redeem by December 31, 2015. Bonus: Customers that stop in for service at Great Clips on November 11 will receive a a free haircut card that they can give to a veteran.
- On November 11, 2015, veterans and military will receive a free doughnut & small coffee at participating Krispy Kreme locations; no ID is required, you just need to identify yourself as such.
- On November 11, 2015, members of the military with ID will receive a free Bloomin’ Onion & a soft drink at participating Outback Steakhouse locations, plus they’ll receive a Military Mates 15% off discount from November 12-December 31, 2015. Deployed? Fill out a Veterans Day Rain Check to get your free Bloomin’ Onion when you return.
- On November 11, 2015, veterans and active-duty military with proof of service will receive a free entrée at participating Applebee’s locations. Free entrée limited to the Veterans Day menu.
- From 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, veterans and active-duty military will receive a free dinner at participating Golden Corral locations.
- From 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on November 11, 2015, veterans & active-duty military with ID will receive a free order of Red, White, & Blue Pancakes at participating IHOP locations.
- On November 11, 2015, veterans & active-duty military with ID will receive a free entrée at participating Olive Garden locations. The free entrée is limited to the Veterans Day menu. Family members dining with them will receive 10% off of their meals.
- On November 11, 2015, veterans & active-duty military with ID will receive a free entrée from the Veterans Day menu at participating Hooters locations.
- On November 11, 2015, both active-duty & veterans with ID will receive a free All-American Burger at participating Shoney’s locations.
- On November 11, 2015, veterans, active-duty, & former military with ID will receive a free lunch at Texas Roadhouse. Free entrée limited to the Veterans Day menu.
- From 5:00 a.m.-noon on November 11, 2015, veterans and military (active & non-active) with ID will receive a free build-your-own Grand Slam at participating Denny’s locations.
- On November 11, 2015, active-duty military & veterans with ID will receive a free meal from the Create-Your-Own-Combo menu at participating On the Border locations; includes Choose 2 or Choose 3 selections.
- From 6:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on November 11, 2015, active-duty and former military with proof of service will receive a free breakfast at participating Krystal locations. Bonus: Anyone (military or otherwise) can take advantage of $0.50 Pups & Corn Pups from 11:00 a.m.-close on November 11.
- On November 11, 2015, veterans & active-duty military with ID will receive a free entrée from a special Veterans Day menu at participating California Pizza Kitchen locations.
- On November 11, 2015, veterans and active-duty military with ID will receive a free meal at participating Buffalo’s Cafe locations.
- On November 11, 2015, veterans with ID will receive a free entrée at Concentrics Restaurants, including ONE. midtown kitchen, TWO urban licks, TAP, The Spence.
- On November 11, 2015, all members of the military will receive a deal at BLT Steak Atlanta: Parties of one or two that show a military with ID will receive a 50% discount; parties of three or more will receive a 25% discount.
