Aurora Cineplex is hosting a pop-up drive-in movie experience in its parking lot this September. The Friday night flicks will feature classic movies from the ’80s and will start at 8:30 p.m.
You can enjoy a movie experience from your car, or bring lawn chairs to set up in the space just in front of your car. The parking spots have been sized to allow for this, with 10 feet between cars to allow for safe distancing. An attendant will direct you to your spot, based on the size of your vehicle.
The parking lot opens at 7 p.m.
If you’d like to come early and play a round of miniature golf, it’s just $5 per person for the first round and $2.50 for the second.
Bring your own snacks, or buy concessions on site. You can have food delivered to your car before the movie starts, and you can buy snacks at the walk-up window at the mini golf course before and during the film.

You should plan on buying tickets online in advance, through Eventricate. If the show does not sell out, you can buy a ticket at the entrance the night of the show — but why risk it?
You’ll receive the movie audio either on your car’s FM radio, or a handheld unit that you bring with you. There will also be speakers broadcasting from the screen area.
The price isn’t necessarily cheap — $29.95 per vehicle. For two people, this is about the same price as a traditional movie theater. Clearly, the best bargain is to bring the whole family. There is a fee of $3.45 to buy online, and sales tax is added.
