It was a bestselling novel and a theatrical hit on both Broadway and London’s West End — and now you can see it right here in the Atlanta Suburbs, at Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville. Better yet, you can see it on the cheap!
We’re talking about The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, a play you don’t want to miss! This is the SAME production (with mostly the same cast) that ran at Atlanta’s Horizon Theatre last fall. If you missed it then, you have another chance now.
The show will run at Aurora Theatre from January 9 to February 9, 2020.
A couple of show times are already sold out, so do not wait to buy your tickets.
This is an Editor’s Pick here at Atlanta On The Cheap, for high-quality, high-value entertainment.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time has won five Tony Awards, including Best Play, as well as seven Olivier Awards.
Showtimes follow this schedule:

Saturday & Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The plot
Tenacious and intelligent, Christopher is an autistic teenager who’s better at solving equations than navigating a world that’s stubbornly out of sync with how his mind works.
After a neighbor’s dog turns up dead, Christopher resolves to find the killer. As his investigation unfolds, he dares to strike out on his own. With a white rat named Toby for companionship, he embarks on a thrilling adventure that turns his whole world upside-down.

You can choose your own seats from a chart, or let the automated system choose “best available” for you.
Note that the venue is small and intimate — there are no bad seats!
We clicked around all the show dates and couldn’t figure out an exact pricing pattern. But it seems that Aurora prices tickets by demand — so as fewer seats become available for a show, the prices rise. The cheapest performance dates were the ones that still had many unsold seats.
Here’s what we found:
- The highest prices seem to be for the earliest dates of the run– $55 for adults, $52 for seniors, and $49 for youth under 15.
- But if you choose a date farther away, the prices get lower. At the time of writing, prices for Jan. 22nd were $45 adult, $42 senior, and $39 youth.
- By February dates, when there are still many seats available, we found tickets as low as $25 adult, $22 senior, and $19 youth. We assume these prices will rise with demand.
The takeaway: If you’re looking for the lowest price, click around on all the dates you’d consider attending the show. Or, use the Goldstar discount, below.
