UPDATED on 4/17/20 to add Amica Insurance.
With so many people staying home and off the roads, car insurance companies are offering partial refunds to consumers. Some are even extending a grace period for cancellations, if you’re having a hard time paying.
We’ve compiled a list below of the major insurers, and what each one is offering — whether a cash rebate or a credit against what you’ll owe in the future. For the most part the refunds are applied automatically and you don’t have to take action. But if you DON’T see a credit come up in the time frame described below for your company, you should call and ask about it.
The info below comes from press statements and company websites.
Remember, this is just a guide. If you have questions about your policy or your premium, you should contact your agent or the customer service department at your insurance firm.
