Holy guacamole! Americans will consume over 53 million pounds of avocados on Super Bowl Sunday, according to market research. It is said to be the biggest day of the year for avocado consumption.
The Super Bowl takes place on February 7, 2021.
If you’re pulling out your favorite guacamole recipe and dusting off the blender, you may be looking for a deal on avocados. Because the grocery stores know this, many put avocados on sale the week before Super Bowl.
We combed through the weekly flyers to find out where avocado prices are right now, and where you can get the best price.
The big winner this year is Aldi — the discount chain is selling Hass avocados for just 49 cents each, as you can see in the flyer, below.
There are approximately 16 Aldi stores in the extended Atlanta metro area, and you can search by zip code for the one closest to you.

FUN FACT
Avocado trees are native to southern Mexico and were cultivated there as early as 500 BC. Spanish explorers learned about avocados from the Aztecs and became the first Europeans to consume the creamy fruit.
