Thank you for being a friend, Betty White!
If you’re a fan, you can celebrate the life of actress and animal welfare advocate Betty White at a local movie theater.
A new documentary, Betty White: A Celebration, will land in theaters nationwide on Betty’s 100th birthday, on January 17th, 2022 — including many theaters in the Atlanta metro area.
Betty White passed away on New Year’s Eve, less than three weeks before her century milestone. But the the show will go on, and now the movie becomes a poignant celebration of her life.
The documentary will include classic moments from The Golden Girls, Saturday Night Live, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and more.
It includes what turned out to be the final interview with Betty as well as tributes from the many friends who loved her. The run time is 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Below, we’ve put together a list of metro Atlanta theaters that are screening the film. The prices vary by location, ranging from $13 to just over $17. Some theaters are offering senior discounts, with a ticket price of just $10.
Want to stay home and binge The Golden Girls instead?
You can get a 30-day FREE trial of Hulu, which should be enough time for you to stream all 7 seasons of the iconic comedy. Just don’t forget to cancel your trial if you don’t want to pay for the next month.

Take the #BettyWhiteChallenge
Betty White was a lifelong animal welfare advocate. To honor her legacy in this area, there’s a movement encouraging the public to make a $5 donation to an animal rescue or shelter in her name, on January 17th. (Of course, you can donate a larger amount, too!)
Of course, January 17th is also MLK Day — and you might choose to donate to a civil rights organization, or participate in an event celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. There are many MLK Day service projects running on that day that could use your help!
