Resorts with a casino are popular vacation destinations. But currently, there are no legal casinos in Georgia — other than a casino cruise ship in Brunswick that must sail outside of state lines to allow guests to gamble on board.
There are plenty of lobbyists trying to persuade legislators to legalize gambling in Georgia — one proposal is for a casino and resort near Atlanta Motor Speedway.
But that hasn’t happened yet.
So if you want a Las Vegas style experience without springing for airfare, you’ll need to get in the car and drive to one of casinos located within a reasonable drive from Atlanta for a weekend getaway.
The miles and driving times listed below are from downtown Atlanta. So your drive may be longer or shorter, depending where you are starting from.

Is online gambling legal in Georgia?
The state of Georgia has not yet legalized nor regulated online gambling within its borders. Yet there are no state or federal laws that prohibit Georgia residents from visiting online gambling sites that are located outside the United States. That means you are free to play blackjack online with an offshore entity that is regulated in another country.
