Ah, summer vacation! You have to keep the kids busy and entertained, even when the Georgia heat and humidity makes it unpleasant to be outdoors. And that’s when an air-conditioned movie comes in handy.

This summer, taking the kids to the movies doesn’t have to be an expensive outing.
Four national theater chains with an Atlanta presence are offering cheap summer movies for families on a budget.

The movies include familiar titles from Disney, Pixar, Dr. Seuss, and more.

AMC Theatres:  Summer Movie Camp

• All Summer Movie Camp tickets are just $3 each for kids and adults.
• A family-friendly title will be featured for eight weeks, every Monday and Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. 
• Note that showtimes can vary by location.
• The series runs all summer, from June 24th to August 14th, 2024.
  
• There are about 14 AMC Theatre locations in metro Atlanta, including the northern and southern suburbs, plus Phipps Plaza in town.

Cinemark: Summer Movie Club House

• All Summer Club House tickets are $1.75 each for children and adults.
• A family-favorite title will be screened Monday to Thursday for 10 weeks.
• The series runs all summer, from June 10th  to August 15th, 2024. 
• The only local theater participating is Cinemark Tinseltown in Fayetteville.
• The showtime is typically 10 a.m.

Marcus Theatres: Kids Dream Family Film Series

• Tickets are just $3 each for kids and adults.
• A Series Passport is available for $18 — making each flick just $1.50.
• The kid-friendly film series runs for 12 weeks, from June 9th to August 29th.
• The films play Sunday thru Thursday. In August there are also Saturday shows.
• Showtimes vary, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• There are three locations: Tucker, Roswell, and Suwanee.

Regal Cinemas: Summer Movie Express

• All Summer Movie Express tickets are $1 each for children and adults.
• Shows are on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
• Showtimes may vary by location.
• The series runs for nine weeks, from June 11 to Aug. 7, 2024.
• Titles, dates and showtimes may vary by market.

Canton Summer Family Movies

• Movies are on Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
• Tickets are just $1 each and go on sale at 9 a.m. on the Friday before the show.
• The program runs from June 6 to July 25.
