Duluth launches Frosty Fun — 16 days of amazing & FREE winter activities for all ages
There will be a flurry of activity in downtown Duluth this winter season, as the city launches an ambitious calendar of Frosty Fun — with activities starting on Saturday, November 23, 2024 and extending to the New Year.
The events are spread out around the downtown area, including Parsons Alley, the Activity Lawn, and the Duluth Town Green.
Almost everything is FREE to attend.
Note that a few events (not many) require advance registration and a small fee, so scroll thru the list and get that taken care of ASAP!

Winter Games (18+)
1 to 4 p.m.
Downtown Duluth
With thrilling winter-themed games like snowball toss and holiday-themed races, it’s a day packed with action. Gather your own team of eight for only $30 or join as a free agent for $5 and be matched with others to form a team.
Sunday, Nov. 24
Roller Skating
Skate for FREE on the rink on the Activity Lawn. Yes, even your skate rental is FREE!
The event is 2 to 8 p.m.

Downtown Duluth will be buzzing with live music, giveaways, art demonstrations, and a variety of unique gift vendors.

Creativity Workshop (18+)
Paint a pair of pint glasses with help from instructor.
$20 per person, and registration is required.
Saturday, Dec. 7
Deck the Hall
This is Duluth’s classic annual winter festival, from 2 to 7 p.m. in various locations downtown.
Saturday, Dec. 21
Snow Globe Photo Booth
Step inside a winter wonderland at Town Green! Come from 5 to 9 p.m. for a magical evening featuring a photo booth inside a giant snow globe — bring your camera and capture the memories.
The Grinch Trivia and Movie
Parsons Alley, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Movie starts at 7.
Monday, Dec. 27
Movie Night at the Red Clay
Throw on those cozy jammies and join us for a free screening of Candy Cane Lane at the Red Clay. Join us for a fun and memorable night out with friends and family.
Doors will open at 2:00pm, with the movie beginning at 2:30pm.
Seating is first-come, first-served, so arrive on time to find the perfect spot.
Friday, Dec. 27
Mini Golf
Noon to 6 p.m. on the Activity Lawn.
Sunday, Dec. 29
Axe Throwing + Ice Carving
Head over to Parsons Alley to witness the artistry of Live Ice Carving, starting at 3 PM. Watch as skilled artisans transform blocks of ice into a stunning creation right before your eyes. Once the carving is complete, don’t miss the chance to snap some photos with the beautiful sculpture. Then, enjoy an afternoon of FREE Axe Throwing and live music from 3 to 6 PM.
Tuesday, Dec. 31
Noon Years Eve
Enjoy crafts, activities, themed photo opps, and a special countdown to a drop at 12 noon.

Dueling Pianos
Get ready for a night of musical excitement at the Red Clay Music Foundry with The Andrew’s Brothers Dueling Pianos from 7 to 9 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 3, 2025
Frosty Finale
From noon to 6 p.m., enjoy a fun-filled day featuring inflatable slides and an exciting obstacle course that will keep the kids entertained. Enjoy free face painting, fun crafts, and a variety of other children’s activities.
Duluth City Hall
Creativity Workshop (age 12+)
Create a succulent wall frame at Duluth City Hall, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Registration required, $10 fee for materials.
Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025
