The CHaRM recycling center in Decatur will host Kids Day on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 9 a.m. to noon. This is a fun event, with many activities and demonstrations to actively engage children.
The event is FREE to attend, when you RSVP online.

Scheduled activities for Kids Day
- Atlanta ToolBank: Atlanta ToolBank will have a hands-on craft opportunity to build small cars.
- Bee Downtown: Bringing honey samples and a live observation hive, Bee Downtown will be providing buzz-worthy interactive fun for the kids!
- BelterTech: Learn as BelterTech transforms hard-to-recycle plastics into building material.
- Chick-fil-A: The Chick-fil-A Cow will be onsite visiting with Kids Day participants.
- CompostNow: Compost Now will be talking about the importance of composting.
- Cricket’s Mobile Petting Zoo: Visit everyone’s favorite furry friends including goats, pigs, rabbits, chickens, ducks and sheep!
- Novelis: The Novelis “Can Man” will be back again this year encouraging kids to recycle aluminum cans. They’ll also be giving out Novelis coloring books and Can Man plushies at their booth.
- Old Castle Infrastructure, A CRH Company: Old Castle Infrastructure will be working with kids to discuss how to keep stormwater clean.
- Science ATL: Kids can guess how long it takes for materials to decompose at the Science ATL booth.
- Scraplanta: Scraplanta Creative Reuse is a 501(c)3 non-profit on a mission to empower artists, makers, teachers, and students to create beautiful works of art from discarded materials. The Scraplanta team will be onsite creating arts and crafts from recycled materials.
- State Farm: Learn about plant pollinators with State Farm. Kids will be able to take pollinator seeds home to plant!
- The Gift of Music Foundation: Miss LaLa’s Instrument Petting Zoo in conjunction with The Gift of Music will have several instruments on hand for the kids to play. Trying new things builds confidence and creating music brings instant satisfaction, so people of all ages can stop by to experience the joy of music.
- Zoo Atlanta: Learn about gorilla conservation and how recycling YOUR cell phones saves gorilla habitats! Bring your old cell phones to recycle at Kids Day.
- Cornhole, chalk art, games, crafts and more!
