♦ Super Museum Sunday
On Sunday, February 9, 2025, the Georgia History Festival is sponsoring Super Museum Sunday. It’s a day of FREE admission at participating museums plus all the state historic sites across Georgia.
There are over 100 participating museums and historic sites in Georgia — including many within an easy drive of metro Atlanta.

• The High Museum of Art hosts its Second Sundays FREE day on February 9, 2025.

• The High Museum also hosts its FREE Access For All program on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 — you need to register in advance for this one.
• The Museums On Us program offers FREE admission to Bank of America cardholders at two metro-area museums on February 1st and 2nd. This includes the High Museum and Atlanta History Center.

• The Marietta History Center hosts its FREE monthly Family Fun Day on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
• The Carlos Museum hosts its Sunday FUNday event on February 2, 2025. This is a is a FREE drop-in program for all families and includes admission to the galleries. First come, first served, while supplies last. No registration is required.
♦ Free craft and DIY workshops

♦ Black History Month
Black History Month, which takes place in February every year, is celebrated throughout the metro Atlanta area with festivals, storytelling, performances, parades, cultural events, pop-up markets and much more.
In 2025, there are so many FREE events and activities to take advantage of! In particular, there are quite a few free movie screenings, including Black Panther, Hidden Figures, and more titles that tell African American stories. The libraries are offering kids crafts and story hours.

♦ Lunar New Year celebrations
The Chinese Lunar New Year is celebrated between January 29th and February 3rd in 2025 and it’s the Year of the Snake!
There are many activities and local festivals to enjoy for free. And, through Feb. 17th, you can head to Atlantic Station’s Lunar New Year display, featuring a huge, fog-breathing dragon and nightly lantern shows at the top of each hour.

Stone Mountain Park
This Asian-inspired festival features a special Lunar New Year Drone and Light Show, a lighted parade, cultural craft activities, live entertainment, and other cultural elements. Each evening, the festival concludes with a spectacular fireworks finale.

♦ National Frozen Yogurt Day
Celebrate International Frozen Yogurt Day in Atlanta! The date is Tuesday, February 6, 2024. And it’s a luscious reminder to get out and explore your city by trying a new yogurt shop, a new flavor, or new toppings.
Each year, frozen yogurt shops mark the day with deals, discounts, and (sometimes) freebies. Most commonly, we see BOGO offers so you can eat froyo with a friend and split the cost.

♦ Emory’s Annual Bach Bowl concert
Emory’s annual Bach Bowl concert returns in 2025 on Super Bowl Sunday, February 9th. As always, the concert starts at 4 p.m. and lasts about an hour. The concert and game are planned NOT to overlap, so come out on Super Bowl Sunday for the Bach Bowl — a FREE chamber music concert before the big game!

♦ Verizon Super Bowl Fan Fest
Sunday, February 9, 2025
State Farm Arena
Verizon is bringing Super Bowl Fan Fest to 30 NFL stadiums around the country, including State Farm Arena in Atlanta. It will the largest Super Bowl viewing party in metro Atlanta.
Tickets are available now for Verizon customers, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The tickets are FREE, but are available only to Verizon customers — those who have either a mobile plan or internet services from Verizon.
This is a family-friendly event and all ages are welcome.

On Friday, February 21, 2025, the Carlos Museum will host an evening of musical bedtime stories in a family-friendly concert. The Pajama Concert for Families is an annual event. It’s designed for young audiences, but is perfect for music lovers of any age. Admission is FREE.

♦ Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience
This immersive exhibit lets you step into a Van Gogh painting as you explore his life and work through 360-degree digital projections and a virtual reality excursion through the French countryside. It’s running all month long.
Located at the new Exhibition Hub Art Center, 5660 Buford Highway in Doraville. There are over 250 FREE parking spots here, and it’s right off I-285 near Spaghetti Junction.

♦ Spring Consignment Sales
The earliest of the spring consignment sales in Atlanta start in February, then continue thru March. At these sales, you can save tons of money on gently worn clothing for kids, and even for yourself.
The spring consignment sales include not just clothes, but also toys and accessories (like shoes, bookbags, bedding, room decor, etc.) You may just be interested in shopping, or you may have clothing and other items you’d like to sell on consignment.

♦ Best Picture film festivals & showcases
The Academy Awards ceremony will be broadcast on March 2nd — that means you can spend some time in February catching up on the Best Picture nominees and viewing the ones you haven’t seen yet.
This year, three different cinema chains are showcasing the nominated films on the big screen. Some are offering a real deal on tickets — as low as $5 per film.

♦ Winter walks and easy hikes
The February weather is fickle in Atlanta, but there are usually plenty of days suitable for walking or hiking — just dress appropriately.
• Cobb County Trail of the Month program will meet at Lost Mountain Park on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Register in advance.
• Wednesday morning group walks at Mason Mill Park are lead by a guide, starting at 10 a.m. each Wednesday. No reservation needed!
• The Enchanted Woodland Trail at Chattahoochee Nature Center is open all month long! Free with the price of admission.

The Snow Island winter fun park is open at Lanier Islands on weekends through February 23, 2025. You can play in the snow, tube down a huge snow hill, ice skate, and more.
♦ Experience the magic of a Candlelight Concert
Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations around metro Atlanta.
These are live performances in intimate venues, lit by flickering candles. The concerts range from iconic classical music to tributes to pop artists like Adele and Queen.

♦ Titanic: An Immersive Voyage
This NEW immersive exhibit just landed at the Exhibition Hub Art Center, on Buford Highway at I-285. It allows you to virtually hop aboard the Titanic and walk through life-sized recreations of parts of the infamous ship.
You can also:
- Discover an impressive collection of artifacts related to the Titanic’s short life
- Relive the ship’s final dramatic moments from a lifeboat in an immersive room
- Dive into the depths of the ocean aboard a virtual submersible and discover the RMS Titanic’s wreck site
- Learn about the story of the Titanic—from its creation to the crash and aftermath
♦ Horizon of Kufu: Take a virtual reality trip thru ancient Egypt
Horizon of Khufu has landed in Atlanta, completely reshaping the immersive experience. Step back into the golden age of ancient Egypt, where you can relive the reign of King Khufu and explore the iconic pyramids from 4500 years ago.
The 45-minute virtual reality experience costs $27 for adults, and $24 for kids, seniors, military, and students.
