As reported by 11-ALIVE news, the Georgia Department of Public Health is operating a FREE, high-capacity testing site near the airport. It is said to be able to perform up to 5,000 tests per day, and to be operating under capacity right now — so this may be a good alternative for those who cannot get an appointment closer to home.
The testing site is located at 1800 Sullivan Road in College Park. It is open through September 11, 2020.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, by appointment.
Any Georgia resident can make an appointment and obtain a test, regardless which county you live in. You do not have to be sick to qualify for a test, but if you don’t feel well, please wear a mask and take precautions.
NOTE that this is a drive-thru testing site. You’ll stay in your car and will receive instructions on how to do your own nasal swab.
Results are said to be available online within 2 to 3 days.
To make an appointment, click here. Then click on GEORGIA and choose the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport testing site. (There are a few other metro Atlanta testing sites listed as well.)
