On Sunday, December 8th, The Wren’s Nest will host its annual Victorian holiday party and open house from 1 to 4 p.m. It is FREE to attend and open to the public.
The event will celebrate both the holiday season and Joel Chandler Harris’s birthday.
You’ll find music, entertainment, refreshments, storytelling, and good cheer.
Schedule of events
1 to 1:30 p.m. — Brer Rabbit Stories
1:30 to 2 p.m. — Storytelling Session about Joel Chandler Harris and three people who inspired him
2 to 3 p.m. — harp performances by harpist Kamea Alleyne
3 p.m. — birthday song and cake for Joel Chandler Harris
3 to 4 p.m. — Victorian dancing performance in period costume
In addition, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos from 1 to 3 p.m. — bring your own camera!

About the venue
The Wren’s Nest is located in the former home of Joel Chandler Harris, author of the Brer Rabbit stories. It is a cultural center that preserves the legacy of Harris, as well as the rich heritage of storytelling.

Saturday and Sunday 10 am – 3 pm
Storytelling every Saturday 1 pm
Monday – Friday, By Appointment Only
Tours are $10 for adults and $8 for children, seniors, and students.
