[exp] [/exp]On April 3, 2014, the Atlanta Cyclorama will host a free screening of At the River I Stand: The 1968 Sanitation Workers Strike and the Assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King.
The documentary “recounts the 1968, two-month drama that transformed a Memphis sanitation strike into a national event that brought together complex historical forces rooted in economic and civil rights, African American inclusion and the struggle for dignity for public employees and all working people.”
The movie starts at 7:00 p.m. After the film, Nasir Muhammad, a historian and researcher specializing in African-American history, will lead the audience in a discussion.
The Atlanta Cyclorama is located at 800 Cherokee Avenue SE, Atlanta.
