The City of Alpharetta and Fulton County Water Services will host a free rain barrel workshop on Saturday, July 13 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The workshop will take place at the Alpharetta Rucker Road Park and Farm, located at 860 Rucker Road in Alpharetta.
You must pre-register to attend this event.
At the workshop, you’ll learn how to use a rain barrel to harvest rainwater and then use it to irrigate lawns and gardens. Rainwater runoff from a typical house can produce hundreds of gallons per storm.
Workshop attendees will receive a 55-gallon rain barrel with a diverter kit.
You must be a Fulton County resident and attend the class in order to get the rain barrel.
Limit: One barrel per family.
If you’d like to attend, you can pre-regisster by calling 678-297-6213. The deadline is 4:00 p.m. on July 9.
Space is very limited, and the class will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
