Colony Square is celebrating the celestial first day of summer — the summer solstice — with a FREE sunrise meditation session. The event takes place at 6 a.m. on June 21st, in front of Colony Square’s brand new mural, titled Aurora.
Aurora is a 2915-square-foot mural that was painted by four Atlanta women. The massive public art display symbolizes hope, transcendence, and the dawn of a new day.
The meditation session will begin with a self-healing practice, as you set your intentions for the new season. At 6:45 a.m., the ritual will conclude with a special ceremony to welcome the dawn and seal intentions. You’re invited to bring an item that represents yourself to place at Aurora’s feet, to bring luck.
Everyone attending will receive a citrine stone, said to bring abundance. The first 10 guests to arrive at Colony Square will receive a complimentary palm reading from Handful of Stars. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase a palm reading following the event.
You may also want to attend the grand opening of Starbuck’s new Colony Square location in Building 100.
Maybe you’re not a morning person, or your commute doesn’t take you toward midtown Atlanta. In that case, stop by Colony Square any time to appreciate the gigantic mural of Aurora.
The summer solstice marks the longest day of the year.
