The Class of 2020 can take heart! Graduation ceremonies will happen virtually and in a big way.
Currently, two large-scale virtual commencements are planned nationwide. The first takes place in May and the second in June.
The details for each one are below.
Note: If you missed the May event, known as Graduate Together, you may be able to stream it on demand through the NBC app or the ABC app. We haven’t checked availability on CBS or FOX.

The ABC app requires an account or login credentials from a cable provider, while the NBC app made the program available to everyone.
Virtual graduation for high school & college on June 6th
YouTube is hosting a virtual graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. The event will include commencement addresses delivered by former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.
The special is called Dear Class of 2020 and will take on festive themes — featuring not only traditional graduation day elements, but musical performances and a virtual after-party as well. It will last several hours.

Commencement speakers and performers include BTS, Lady Gaga, former Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and Malala Yousafzai.
Alicia Keys, Zendaya, and others will perform.
Virtual high school graduation ceremony on May 16th
Graduate Together: America Honors the Class of 2020 is a one-hour primetime special that take place on Saturday, May 16th, 2020, at 8 p.m.
It will be broadcast simultaneously on ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX — and will also stream on multiple digital platforms.
This program is a tribute to the more than 3 million high school seniors, whose high school careers were cut short without the pomp and circumstance they expected. It will also honor their teachers and families.
The event is sponsored by The Lebron James Family Foundation and The Entertainment Industry Foundation.
Former President Barack Obama will give the commencement address.
Special guests will speak and perform. These include: LeBron James, Malala Yousafzai, the Jonas Brothers, Yara Shahidi, H.E.R., Megan Rapinoe, Bad Bunny, Lena Waithe, Pharrell Williams, Ben Platt.
High school seniors are encouraged to share stories, pictures and videos to the Graduate Together website. They can even submit pictures to the first ever National High School Yearbook.
Commencement address for HBCU graduates on May 16th
This special virtual graduation is called Show Me Your Walk, HBCU Edition.
The Obamas will personally address students graduating from historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) on Saturday, May 16th at 2 p.m.
