Gwinnett County will host a festive and inclusive MLK Day celebration for the whole community, on Monday, January 15th, 2024. The events take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and you can attend any part of it. Everything is FREE and open to the public.
The day starts off with a ceremony at 11 a.m., at the Gwinnett Justice & Administration Center. It is located at 75 Langley Drive in downtown Lawrenceville.
Afterward, the MLK Day Parade will step off from the Justice Center, heading to Central Gwinnett High School. The 2-mile parade is hosted by the United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County. It is a celebratory event, and not a march or protest.
The Parade Route
- Starting at the Justice Center and heading down Langley Dr.
- Right on Constitution Blvd.
- Right on South Perry St.
- Right on Nash St.
- Right on Gwinnett Dr.
- Ending at the high school (564 W. Crogan St.)
After the parade, the public is invited to join in the celebration at Central Gwinnett High School, from 2 to 5 p.m. The festival-type event will feature food, vendors, and entertainment.
