Let’s face it, Atlanta is a dog-centric kind of town. Bring out your pooch to strut his stuff in costume this October, at one of these canine costume parades and contests.
Be sure you click through to the event’s web page and review all the rules for participating (leashes, vaccination status, etc.)
Even if you don’t have a pup of your own, these events are FUN to attend, and you may get get some great photos.

Saturday, October 19th between 1 p.m and 5 p.m.

6th annual Spooky Walk-n-Wag at Six Flags
Sunday, October 20th; registration at 10:30 and judging at noon
Walk a one-mile course with your costumed pup! The only cost to participate is a donation of a 5-lb bag of dog food.
Dogtoberfest in East Atlanta Village
Sunday, October 20th from noon to 3 p.m.
This fun event in East Atlanta includes a canine costume contest, pet adoptions with Atlanta rescues, vendors for pet supplies, raffle prizes, and delicious treats for pets and their owners.
Admission is $5, and there is a $5 contest entry fee per per dog.

IWag’s First Annual Howl-o-Ween Pawty & Open House
Friday, October 24th from 5 to 8 p.m.

Dogtober Fest at Orpheus Brewing in midtown
Saturday, October 26th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Celebrate Oktoberfest with beer, a puppy kissing booth, pet adoptions through Atlanta Humane Society, and a costume contest. There will be 25 beers on tap, Mexican food via food truck, and more.

Howl-O-Ween Spooktacular Dog Fest at Brookhaven Dog Park
Saturday, October 26th from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Hosted by the Brookhaven Dog Park, located at 4158 Peachtree Rd., Atlanta, GA 30319.
Costume contest at 1 p.m.
Food trucks on site. There will also be food trucks, pet supply vendors, and pet adoptions.

Doggy Halloween Parade at Decatur Farmers Market
Saturday, October 26th at 11 a.m.
The Decatur Farmers Market is located at 308 Clairemont Ave, Decatur, Georgia 30030.

Doggies on the BeltLine costume contest and parade
Sunday, October 27th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
The check-in process and parade begins at the Shed at Ponce City Market. The parade ends at Park Tavern for cocktails and costume contest judging.

Costumes on the Woof
Wednesday, October 30th from 6 to 9 p.m.
This is a fundraiser for LifeLine Animal Project. It takes place at the Loews Hotel in midtown Atlanta.
The admission price of $25 in advance or $30 at the door allows you to view the doggy costume contest (there is $10 donation per pet to participate) with celebrity guest judge panel, two complimentary cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres, discounted valet parking, and access to silent auction bidding.
