[exp] [/exp]On Wednesday, December 30, 2015, head to the Southwest Arts Center for a free Kwanzaa Celebration.
From 2:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., you can browse the Kwanzaa Village Marketplace, which features unique gifts and arts & crafts, plus there’ll be special performances & more.
At 6:00 p.m., the Kwanzaa Ceremony, which celebrates the seven principles of Kwanzaa, gets underway. The event features Oginga in “Drum Talk” as well as Spoken Word Artist Ren.
Both the Kwanzaa Village & Ceremony are free.
Plus at 8:00 p.m., you can check out a Fusion: From African to Hip Hop, a high-energy drum and dance performance by Total Dance/Dancical Productions. It’s not free to attend, but you’ll save a bit if you purchase tickets in advance: Tickets are $20 for general admission, with student & senior tickets available for $15 each & tickets for children (age 12 & under) available for $10 each. Tickets are $5 more at the door.
