This Sunday, you can enjoy a summer blockbuster in an air-conditioned theater, on the cheap. How does a $4 movie ticket sound?
That super-cheap, $4 price tag is a reality on Sunday, August 27, 2023 — which has been designated as National Cinema Day.
On this one day, many theaters in Atlanta and nationwide are offering ALL movie ticket for just four bucks, plus sales tax.
The tickets are on sale online now, so don’t wait!
Independent theaters and the big chains alike are participating — including AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and more.
National Cinema Day began in 2022, as an experiment over Labor Day Weekend, which is known to be a slow period at the box office. Apparently it went well enough that the organizers are bringing it back for an August run in 2023.
Note that the discounted ticket pricing does not include tax or online and/or third-party ticketing fees. We checked Fandango and found the app is adding a $1.89 convenience fee to the $4 price tag.
Plus, some theaters will offer special savings on popcorn and other concessions.
AMC Theatres are offering a small popcorn and small drink combo for $5.
Regal Cinemas are offering a small popcorn and small drink combo for $4.
It’s the perfect opportunity to beat the August heat and enjoy a summer blockbuster on the big screen. You may even be able to fit in a few discounted screenings if you plan your day well!
You can plug your zip code into the National Cinema Day website to find participating theaters for the movie you’d like to see at a discount — and you can purchase your $4 tickets in advance online. They are also on sale now through the Fandango app (which adds a ticketing fee).
Regal Cinemas is also selling $4 tickets through its website.
