With no Peach Drop this year, East Atlanta is the place to be on New Year’s Eve.
That’s right, there is NO Peach Drop in 2019, so it really will be out with the old and in with the new — the Rooster Drop in East Atlanta Village!
Head to ZIP code 30316 for fun that starts at 7 p.m. and goes till 1 a.m. The event is known as New Year’s EAV and it is FREE to attend.
This is a family-friendly event, meaning there will be TWO firework displays:
- 8 p.m., before the kids’ bedtime
- midnight, to ring in 2020
The music starts at 7 p.m. Performances include:
- Black Sheep Ensemble
- Dot.s
- Challenger Deep
- The BIG HEED
- School of Rock Atlanta (for the kids’ show)
The lineup also includes comedians, performance art, and kid-friendly activities.
There will be food and drink available to buy, in front of Holy Taco at 1314 Glenwood Ave.
The fireworks are community-funded, and you can donate here if you’re so inclined.
This is a no parking event! The neighborhood streets will already be crowded, so please leave your car at home. (If you do drive, please do not block a driveway or otherwise inconvenience anyone.)
The closest MARTA rail station is Inman Park Station –it’s a 27-minute, 1.3-mile walk to the Village, so you may want to rent a scooter or bicycle, or take a bus, or request a Lyft or Uber car from there. Get MARTA info here.
