The city of Norcross has a festive holiday line-up planned for the 2024 season, starting with the tree lighting and continuing with the Christmas Village, and plenty of opportunities to snag a free photo with Santa Claus.
You’ll also find a holiday concert, FREE winter carriage rides, and lots of festive fun.
Annual Holiday Celebration & Concert
Friday, December 6, 2024
5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Thrasher Park in downtown Norcross
The majestic tree that the city always used for the lighting ceremony was damaged in a storm and had to be removed earlier in 2022. So we’re not sure what this year’s tree lighting has in store — but according to the event web page, you can expect music, caroling, the Grinch, Santa’s arrival, and more.
Santa Claus will arrive on a fire truck and will be available for photos in Thrasher Park, along with his not-so-jolly pal, The Grinch.
Plus, enjoy an extra-special concert as Lydia Simonds lights up the stage, while the Greater Atlanta Christian Choir fills the air with holiday joy.
There will be free carriage rides (details below) and live music.
On this Friday evening, the downtown merchants and eateries will be open for dinner and shopping.

Downtown Norcross
The 2024 Downtown Norcross Christmas Village is a cheerful winter street festival. During the event, the downtown merchants will run shopping and dining specials.
The day will be decked out with face painting, photos with Santa, Christmas carolers and more. Don’t miss special appearances by Disney Princesses, Frosty the Snowman and Buddy the Elf!
Plus, take a free carriage ride through Downtown Norcross (details below), enjoy acapella tunes from The Uptown Girls, and visit the Candy Cane Lane Kids Zone.
The downtown streets will be very merry!
Holiday Carriage Rides
Head to charming, historic downtown Norcross this holiday season for a FREE carriage ride — then stay to do some shopping or have a cocktail in the historic Norcross town center. There are also lots of opportunities for a FREE photo with Santa Claus this month.
The carriage rides will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. — from December 6th to 20th in 2024.
You can board in Skin Alley, behind 45 South Cafe.
You’re welcome to bring a blanket for your lap, if you think you’ll need one.
