The city of Norcross is celebrating its 150th anniversary belatedly, after last year’s plans were canceled. Norcross was incorporated in 1870.
The festivities are FREE to attend — just come to Lillian Webb Park on Saturday, October 23, 2021 between 4 and 10 p.m.
The event has a really fun baseball theme.
According to the press release, Lillian Webb Park was previously the site of the city’s baseball field, where the Norcross Nuggets would play on Saturday afternoons. Norcross is said to have produced more professional baseball players per capita than any other town in the nation—four major leaguers came out of a town with a population of perhaps 1,000 and there were a host of minor leaguers as well!
The baseball theme is carried out throughout the event — including ballgame concessions and an appearance by team mascot Chopper of the Gwinnett Stripers.
