On my list of interesting things to check out this month:
From March 20-30, 2014, Red Bull Illume will take place at Piedmont Park in Atlanta. Per the summary: “Red Bull Illume is the world’s premier international photography competition dedicated to showcasing the very best creative action and sports photography from around the world to the greater public.”
The international traveling exhibit features the Top 50 winning images from the 2013 Red Bull Illume contest. Each image will be displayed on life-size illuminated light boxes.
It’s free to check out Red Bull Illume. The exhibit will be on display from dusk (about 8:00 p.m.) to 11:00 p.m. nightly just inside the Charles Allen gates, located at 10th St. NE & Monroe Dr. NE., Atlanta.
FYI–Plan to head out on Thursday, March 20, if you want a little something extra when you go: To kickoff the event, the Red Bull Air Force will skydive into the park at 8:00 p.m., and upon landing, the light boxes will be unveiled. Plus, there’ll be performances by athletes & live broncolor photo demonstrations by professional photographers, and guests 21+ can enjoy cocktails while strolling through the exhibition.
