Atlanta does Restaurant Week differently from other cities, which tend to have one event per year, in a central location. Our restaurant weeks come and go — among the defunct events are Downtown Restaurant Week and Atlantic Station Restaurant Week.

Here’s how it works…
Throughout the week, participating restaurants will serve a specially planned, fixed-price course meal that highlights the chef’s favorite dishes or makes use of seasonal ingredients.
Some restaurants may offer two different menu options at different price points, to give you a choice.
Neighborhood restaurant weeks have become more and more popular — but are they actually a deal?
Well, it depends.
The idea of “restaurant week” originally started out with pricier establishments, typically in metropolitan areas, offering meals that were definitely less expensive than their regular offerings. Today, it’s a toss-up, with cheap eateries like Hudson Grille participating. A food blogger who did a little independent research found a lot depends on what you order. Vegetarians might spend more money on a meal during restaurant week than they would otherwise, while someone dining at a steakhouse could easily end up saving a few bucks.
If you’re looking for an opportunity to try something different, you may enjoy browsing the fixed-price menus and having a new culinary experience during Restaurant Week. That may be more important to you than finding a killer deal.
