Updated for 2024!
Want to get outside, take a stroll in the autumn sunshine, and create some great photo opps? Head to a scarecrow display!
These fun scarecrow collections pop up all around town every October, in parks and suburban town squares. Some are just for fun. Others are serious competitions to see who can come up with the most creative — or outrageous — scarecrow.
Don’t forget your camera. You’ll get some great selfies or shots of the kids.
Most of these displays are FREE and open to the public — with the exception of those few that take place inside venues that sell tickets (like the Atlanta Botanical Garden).
And if you’re inspired to decorate your own front yard with a wonderful scarecrow collection, check out Home Depot’s instructions on how to make a scarecrow.
