Oakland Cemetery is hosting its Spring to Life Family Festival on Saturday, April 13th, 2024. The event is FREE to attend and takes place on the cemetery grounds from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Throughout the day, the event will feature interactive activities for families, including craft stations and games.
A vendor market includes over 30 artisans and craftsmen.
Local environmental organizations will be on site with demonstrations and giveaways.
Food is available for purchase, from:

2024 schedule of events
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Spring Plant Sale. Reservations required for shopping from 9 a.m. through noon. Open to the public from noon to 1:30 p.m.)
10 a.m., 12 p.m. & 2 p.m. – Gardens tour: Join our Horticulture tour guides for a family-friendly garden and nature tour of Oakland. Learn about plants, trees, and some of the animals that depend on them for survival.
10:30 – Mushroom Walk with Mushroom Club of Georgia. Tour Oakland with Mushroom Club of Georgia to see examples of fungi and learn about their importance to the environment.
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Meet the Animal Ambassadors of AWARE Wildlife Center, hear their stories, and get tips on peaceful coexistence with wildlife.
11:30 a.m. – Pollinator Gardening talk by Georgia Native Plant Society. Learn about the importance of supporting our pollinators and what types of plants are pollinator-friendly.
12:00 p.m. – Plant sale opens to the public
1:00 p.m. – Invasive plants of Atlanta presentation by ReForest ATL. Learn how to identify and remove invasive plants from your yard.
2 p.m. – Presentation: History of Black Gardens. Join Oakland’s director of horticulture, Abra Lee, to learn about heirloom plants significant in Black gardens.
4:30 p.m. – Run Like Heck 1k – Fun Run (register here)
5 p.m. – Run Like Hell 5k (register here)
