If you’re tired of green beer and leprechauns, do something different this year and celebrate Saint Patrick Swayze Day at Atlanta Brewing Company. The event takes place — when else? — on Sunday, March 17th at Atlanta Brewing Company.
St. Patrick Swayze Day is an all-day party, and the taproom is open from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., two hours longer than the usual Sunday hours.
The first 20 people in the door will receive a free souvenir St. Patrick Swayze glass.
The GastroDawg food truck will be on site, selling gourmet sausages and hot dogs, as well as sandwiches. And it’s Industry Day — 25% off draft beer for anyone employed in the restaurant industry.
The entertainment is simple. The taproom TVs will be playing the Swayze cult classic Roadhouse all day on repeat — until 7 p.m. when they will switch over to the Atlanta United game.
Patrick Swayze died in 2009, at age 57, of pancreatic cancer. The beloved actor would be 66 if he were alive today.
Wayback Wednesday movie nights
Coincidentally, Atlanta Brewing Company is also featuring Patrick Swayze films in its Wayback Wednesday movie nights during the month of March. This is a BYOF (bring your own food) event.
The movie schedule is:
- March 6th: Dirty Dancing
- March 13th: Point Break
- March 20th: Roadhouse
- March 27th: To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar
