If you love stage plays, you are probably having withdrawal pains right now, with all of Atlanta’s finest theaters closed until further notice. Fortunately, Broadway is now coming to you.
From the comfort of your couch, you can enjoy a daily live streamed concert series called Stars in the House.
It will feature stars of stage and screen performing live (from their homes!) to promote support for The Actors Fund and its services.
The line-up includes celebrities like Hamilton’s Phillipa Soo, who played the role of Eliza on Broadway.
Shows will air daily at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on The Actor’s Fund’s YouTube channel.
Each show will feature a live performance by a performer or couple and conversations with Rudetsky between each tune.
The host, Seth Rudetsky, will encourage live viewers to donate. Producer James Wesley will give updates on the fundraising effort, as well as shout-outs to people donating in real time.
“Our main concern is raising spirits and helping The Fund help those who are suffering,” Rudetsky said. “We’re hoping that everyone watching will not only enjoy the amazing singing and the inside Broadway stories, but also donate to the Actors Fund. And, because social distancing is so important right now, every star will be singing from his or her own home!”
Stars in the House will stream daily until Broadway re-opens.
