15+ places where you can order Thanksgiving meals to go

Let’s face it, preparing a holiday meal is a lot of work. Some years, it just makes sense to skip straight to the part where you’re enjoying a yummy dinner, a glass of wine, and a relaxing day.

The point is, you can leave the cooking to someone else — with options that are surprisingly affordable.

This is a list of venues offering holiday food for takeout. It includes local restaurants, barbecue joints, grocery stores, catering companies, and independent food retailers.

Some of the meals are heat-and-serve, while others can be picked up hot and ready to go.

There is something for everyone in this list — whether you want a traditional dinner for a crowd, an intimate meal for two, a vegan holiday, or just sides and desserts.

♦ Tucker Brewing

No order deadline was noted, but pickup is on Wednesday, Nov. 27th  from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All items feed 4 – 6 people, and you order them a la carte.

A Citrus-Brined Turkey Breast is $52.
Sides are $25-30 and include Cornbread Stuffing, Wild Mushroom Green Bean Casserole, Sweet Potato Casserole, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, and more.
Fresh Cranberry Sauce is $12.

♦ Souper Jenny

Order by Wednesday, Nov. 20th at 4 p.m. (or before supplies sell out)
Pick-up is Wednesday, November 27th between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. — at either the Buckhead, Westside, and Roswell locations. (No pickup in Brookhaven or Decatur.)
Delivery is available for an extra $35.

This is an “Everything But The Bird Menu,” meaning you supply your own main entree and just order a la carte from Jenny’s famous soups, side dishes, and desserts.
There lots of vegan and gluten-free options.

Soups are $18.50 per quart, and would be great to have on hand for the holiday weekend.
Side dishes include a variety of stuffings and vegetable dishes for $33 each; serves 4.
Dessert is either pumpkin pie or rustic apple pie from Alon’s Bakery — $36 per pie, serves 8.

♦ Matthew’s Cafeteria

The holiday menu is available for order from Nov. 10th to Nov. 27th, 2024, and you can pick up anytime, including on Thanksgiving Day.
You can pick up hot or cold — you’ll specify that on the checkout form.

These are options for a good-sized gathering.
A pan of turkey and dressing for 8 is $57.
Sides are $36 for a pan that serves 12, including mashed potatoes, various vegetables and casseroles, mac and cheese, more.
A whole pie (8 types) are $28 and a pan of cobber that serves 12 is $35.
This is just a small sampling — you really have to browse the entire menu!

Matthews Cafeteria is also open for dine-in on Thanksgiving.

♦ Mary Mac’s Tea Room

There are a variety of options available for pickup any time now through Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024.
Order at least 24 hours in advance — longer if you have a preferred pickup time slot.
A Holiday Dinner for 4 people is $90.
The same dinner for 10 people is $205.
Both meals include:

• Carved Turkey Breast
• Green Beans
• Whipped Potatoes
• Cornbread Dressing & Gravy
• Cranberry Sauce
• Sweet Potato Souffle
• Yeast Rolls
• Sweet Potato Pie

You can also order a smoked ham ($61) or a whole roast turkey ($116), plus side dishes (1/2 gallon for $26; feeds 8-10), and a wide variety of desserts in half-gallon or gallon sizes.

♦ Sprouts

Order at least 48 hours in advance of your preferred pickup time.
You can pre-order turkeys, hams, rib roasts, complete prepared meals, and party trays for pick-up any time between now and Thanksgiving Day at noon.

Note that pre-orders for the Christmas and Hanukkah season can be placed from December 7 through December 21.

Fully prepared meals are ready to heat and serve. 
They are priced from $39.99 to $89.99, including a main course and traditional trimmings and sides.
Choose from a a fully prepared ham meal, turkey meal, beef rib roast meal, or vegan roast meal.
There are also tons of side dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snack trays.

♦ Sweet Auburn Barbecue

Order by Nov. 24, 2024.
Pickup is Wednesday, Nov. 27th.

A sliced turkey dinner for 6 people is $140. This is sliced turkey with gravy, dressing, 2 sides, and cranberry sauce.
A WHOLE turkey dinner is $245. It includes a 12-14 lb turkey, gravy, dressing, two sides, and cranberry sauce.
You’ll have the option to add additional sides.

Alon’s has a large Thanksgiving menu for online ordering and pickup at two locations, including whole meals and a la carte items.

A la carte sampling:

• A whole smoked turkey is $120. The bird is 12-14 lbs. and serves 10-12 people.
• A roasted turkey breast that serves 4 to 6 people is $57.
• Beef tenderloin for 6 to 8 is $150.
• Gourmet sides run from $9 to $40 (serves 6 to 8)
• There is a wide variety of breads and desserts

Whole dinners include Alon’s Classic Turkey Feast with portions for either four people ($225) or eight people ($360). This meal includes a roasted turkey breast, plus a set of pre-determined gourmet sides.

♦ The Fresh Market

So many options here, with choices for every wallet!
Order by Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024 at 2 p.m. 
Pickup is between Nov. 25th and 28th.

The Essential Holiday Meal package is just $75 and serves 3 to 5 people. This is truly a budget offering for small, informal gatherings. It includes reheatable, classic holiday dishes:  a fully cooked turkey breast, whipped potatoes, herb stuffing, green beans, gravy, and cranberry relish.

The Traditional Holiday Meal package is $100 and serves 8 to 10 people. It includes a fully cooked turkey, whipped potatoes, stuffing, 12 dinner rolls, green beans, gravy, and cranberry relish.

The Ultimate Holiday Meal package is $200 and serves 12 to 14 people. It’s a feast! This package includes a 10-12 lb cooked turkey, a 3-lb boneless honey ham, whipped potatoes, herb stuffing, gravy, green beans, 24 dinner rolls, and cranberry relish.

Don’t want turkey?
Chose a ham meal for $75 (serves 3-5) or $100 (serves 8 to 10).
There is also a prime rib option.

You don’t have to buy a meal package, however. You don’t even have to have turkey!
Check out all the a la carte offerings and put together your own meal.
The a la carte options include turkey, ham, turducken, beef tenderloin, rib roast, pork roast, leg of lamb, rack of lamb, lobster, oysters, plenty of sides and casseroles, and — of course — a selection of fresh pies and cakes.

There are 8 locations of The Fresh Market in the metro area — including Suwanee, Peachtree City, and everything in between.  You order online and then choose a pickup location.  Thanksgiving Day pickup is available.

♦ Whole Foods

Order 48 hours ahead of desired pickup time, no later than Nov. 26th, 2024. 

There are plenty of complete holiday meal packages here, for groups from 2 to 12 people, at all different price points.
A small sampling of what’s available:

• The Thanksgiving Feast for 12 people is $399.99.
• The Classic Roast Turkey Dinner for 8 is $170. (You can also get the classic dinner for 4 people or 12 people at different price points.)
• Prime Rib for 8 is $250.
• Vegan meal for 2 is $40.

You can also choose ham or prime rib, and there are choices for a turkey breast rather than a whole turkey, as well as smoked turkey and brined turkey.

This year there is also a surf-and-turf meal, Beef Wellington, and lamb shank on the menu.

And of course, there are a la carte options for holiday side dishes, ranging from $9 to $25 for portions that serve 4 people — as well as a dessert menu. There is also a vegan holiday menu.

Order your Whole Foods holiday meal at least 48 hours before you plan to pick it up.

You can also order additional side dishes from an assortment prepared by the Publix Deli — there are too many to list here. Sides that serve 8 people start at $13.

♦ Old Vinings Inn

Order by 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024 for pickup on Wednesday, Nov. 27th from noon to 4 p.m.
The meal package is $225 and serves 4 to 6 people.
It includes a 10-12 lb turkey, plus gravy, rolls, green beans, whipped potatoes, cranberry sauce, salad, and cornbread dressing. 
Extra sides are also available a la carte.

♦ Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel is accepting pre-orders now, for their holiday heat-n-serve dinners — starting at $100 for a meal for 4 people. 

The Thanksgiving Heat ‘n’ Serve Feast is $180 and serves 8 to 10.
This meal package includes:

• Two turkey breasts OR ham
• Dressing
• Gravy
• Cranberry relish
• Choice of 2 sides
• Sweet Potato Casserole
• Yeast rolls
• 2 pies (pumpkin and pecan)

A smaller meal for 4 to 6 people is $114 and includes a turkey breast and sides.

If you don’t want a pre-packaged dinner, you can create your own meal with a la carte entrees and a la carte side dishes and desserts.

We got our prices from the Smyrna store’s holiday meal to-go menu — you can edit the location at the top of the page.

Meals come with an option of your main course, and that determines the price of the meal package.
You can pick up your meal warm and ready to eat, or as a heat-and-serve meal.
These Holiday Meals serve 6 to 8 people:

• Whole Roasted or Smoked Turkey — $110
• Honey Glazed Ham meal package — $100
• Pork Roast meal package — $120

Each meal includes:

You can pick them up hot or cold, from Nov. 14th to 23rd.
