About the venue
The Tucker Nature Preserve is a 9-acre green space, located just across the street from the Tucker WalMart on Lawrenceville Highway.
The land was purchased in 2002, but sat idle until 2011, when the community came together to turn this empty lot into a family-friendly destination. It was operated and maintained by Dekalb County until the spring of 2018, when the City of Tucker took over the park.
Today you’ll find a picnic area with five family-size picnic tables, a grassy field for recreation, and a half-mile looped walking trail through the woods. There is parking on site.
On a clear day, you can see Stone Mountain off in the distance.
Are you interested in geocaching? There are two geocaches located at the preserve!
As volunteers continue to clear brush and remove invasive species, the native birds and wildlife have returned.
