Veterans Day is Monday, November 11, 2024.
Each year, many businesses recognize the service and sacrifice of veterans by offering a free meal or menu item, or some other type of discount or free product.

For the most part,  these freebies and deals are for both veterans and active-duty military members.
Some are only good on November 11th, and others offer a few extra days to redeem.

Marietta Veteran’s Day Parade & Ceremony

The Parade will step off at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11th, starting at the Roswell Street Baptist Church and parading through the Marietta Square. The parade includes marching bands, drill teams, decorated floats, and military vehicles. At noon, there will be a Veteran’s Day observance ceremony on the Square.

 

41st Annual Georgia Veteran’s Day Parade & Observance Ceremony

The parade takes place on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 11 a.m. to noon. It steps off from the Plaza Green and travels through The Battery Atlanta. Afterward, there will be an hour long observance, starting at noon, on the Georgia Power Pavilion Stage, with speakers and band performances. Afterward, there will educational presentations at the Pavilion Stage throughout the afternoon.

There will also be a Veterans Festival at The Battery — featuring over 20 exhibits from various organizations and equipment displays from the National Infantry Museum. The festival goes from noon to 3 to p.m.
These events are family-friendly and FREE.

 

Veterans Day Tribute in Sandy Springs

This is the city’s 13th Annual Veterans Day Celebration, taking place on Friday, Nov. 11 at 11:30 a.m. on the City Green. The event is FREE and open to the community.

Retired WSB-TV anchor John Pruitt will serve as emcee, and will introduce the keynote speaker.

If the weather is bad, the event will move inside the City Springs Arts Center and take place in the Byers Theatre (a lovely venue!) Parking is available in the underground parking garage as well on the surface lots. 

 

Woodstock Veterans Day Ceremony

November 11, 2022 from 7 to 9 p.m. FREE to attend. Located at the Park at City Center, at 101 Arnold Mill Road in Woodstock.

 

Dunwoody Veterans Day Ceremony

November 11th at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in Brook Run Park (4770 North Peachtree Rd.) Free coffee!

 

Norcross Veterans Day Ceremony

Friday, November 11th from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Park, located at S. Peachtree St.

 

Acworth Veterans Day Ceremony

November 11th from 2 to 3 p.m. at Patriot’s Point in Cauble Park (4425 Beach Street). FREE to attend.

 

Smyrna Veterans Day

November 11th at 11:00 a.m., at Capt. Jeff Kuss Memorial, located at Lee Victory Recreation Park (110 Sam Ridley Pkwy). In case of rain, the event will be indoors at the Smyrna Community Event Center.
FREE to attend — come and honor local veterans from ages 18 to 98.
